Submission
Overview

At Lisière we believe there is no single way to tell story. Whether your work is quiet or bold, deeply personal or entirely imagined, we welcome writing and art that feels honest and meaningful. We are especially drawn to pieces that explore something beneath the surface, whether that is an emotion, a question, and idea or a memory. We love work that stays with the reader long after it ends. We accept submissions on a rolling basis however we may open timeframes for special issues. We accept Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Photography and Artworks. There is no theme unless otherwise stated, so we encourage you to follow your curiosity and create the work you truly want to. Accepted submission will either be published as individual features on our website or as part of one of our magazine issues. We will let you know where it will appear before publication.

General
Guidelines

We are happy to accept simultaneous submissions. If your work is accepted elsewhere while it is under consideration at Lisière, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can withdraw it from our review process. We only consider previously unpublished work. Lisière has zero tolerance for AI generated submissions. Every piece we publish should reflect the creativity and originality of its creator. We are also committed to creating a respectful and welcoming space for everyone. We do not accept work that promotes or encourages hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or prejudice against any individual or community.

Formatting
Guidelines

Please submit your work in one of the following formats:

  • PDF (.pdf)

  • Microsoft Word (.docx)

  • JPG (.jpg) for visual artwork and photography

Our word limits are intentionally flexible. Written pieces can be anywhere between 300 and 2,000 words. We understand that every piece is different, and we would rather give creativity room to breathe than ask it to fit neatly into a box. Submissions are currently closed for Issue 1 however we accept open submissions all year round
